Google Freezes Prepaid Cards To Counter Wallet Flaw

Google closed his wallet service components, as the company looks to address of high-profile security vulnerability. The company said it has temporarily disabled the use of prepaid cards in retail platform as it seems to fix security flaw that enables an attacker to steal the PIN number on the system Google Wallet. “To manage a problem that could have allowed non-authorized use of prepaid card balance that exists if they recover missing phone without any lock on screen. Provisioning of prepaid cards arrangements it is temporarily disable. “The company added, until we fix the issue soon permanently the step is totally removed.” When accessed, the researchers reported that modified or “rooted” cell phones might be accessed by an attacker, and key pieces of information could be raised and then analyzed to show the user’s PIN number. It is suggested by the zVelo to the users for neglecting the rooting handsets and allows the full disk encryption & lock screen features, as well as disables USB debugging to limit outside access from potential attackers. With following the disclosure, the company said that a number of justifying factors will limit the scope and risk of a potential attack. Further it is added that the company noted the rooting process is unsupportive by Google and in “most cases” the rooting process will cause the Wallet Software to automatically disable itself.
